Hey guys and gals,

As it turns out, one of the friendly VU library administrators is in a
class of mine, and knows about my predilection towards comics,
writing, etc. She let me know tonight that the library is putting
together some displays to showcase graphic novels and such this coming
October, but they were thinking about going beyond the usual (Maus,
Persepolis, Watchmen) and getting some newer works to put up there.

In the course of talking with her, I mentioned that I know a decent
number of folk involved with comics - artists and writers alike - and
I'm not going to make any promises, but if I can talk them into making
a kind of event out of it, would any of you all (Onezumi, Ami, people
with books to plug) be interested in being involved?

They currently want to see some panels or worksheets of stuff I'm
involved in, as they're looking for the Villanova connection, but I
told them that something like Glass Urchin or Onezumi'd be a fantastic
demonstration of a kind of "new wave" of graphic novelists, as well as
the fact that both creators are young and female, as opposed to being
old guys with beards.

(Don't worry, I know a couple of those as well, and they're on
standby.)

If you're interested, shoot me an e-mail, and I'll relay them to my
friendly neighborhood library staff administrator. Who knows? It could
be something big.

OOOoooh cool! I wonder if they'd be interested in mini books?

I think they might. At the very least, they're fans of bucking the
status quo; they've already been bragging to me how they stick it to
the (Catholic) Man with every new request they make. I think they'd
like yours a lot.
