It appears the pdf files cannot be uploaded?
How can one share the pdf files generated by google docs?
This seems a perfect solution for me and my small company,
but the lack of or lopsided pdf support makes it almost useless
to us. Hope I'm wrong and am just missing something.

However, Juniper Berry, even a fast and dirty search through Help
suggests strongly that a fat percentage of Gmail/Google Doc users are
dismayed and incredulous to learn that G Docs, for all its vaunted
improvements, still fails to provide even simple storage of PDF
documents.
Since becoming one of the original Gmail and Google Docs users way
back in the beta-beta days, it has been a continuing source of
confusion and irritation to me that we STILL can't even upload PDF's
to Google Docs. I'd abandon both my Apple email client and the
dreaded Windoze Outlook in a heartbeat if I knew I could upload PDF's.
For those of us with laptops and iPhones, etc., etc. it would rock, to
offload as much as possible onto the web and having sharing
capabilities with our clients and colleagues for ALL our docs, not
just a select few. In the professional, business, and government
communities, PDF's are the transmission document of choice. Not
concerned that I wouldn't be able to edit or comment the PDF within G
Docs -- can handle those issues by any number of other means on a
document-by-document basis. But Ode To Joy if I could just hand them
off to G Doc to hold until I'm ready to use them.
If you're listening O Great Google Demi-Gods, we supplicate thee for
PDF storage!!
Currently Google Docs can not be used to *store* files. All files
uploaded become *converted* to Google Docs internal formats. As a
result some (in all cases too much) formatting will get lost in the
conversion process. The same may happen when a file is downloaded/
exported/saved again to ine's computer.
The fact that documents are converted, currently makes it not possible
to use Google Docs as a generic storage facility. For that one would
need the still not implemented 'Google Drive', or existing solutions
but by other parties like the free, 50 GB, Adrive (www.adrive.com).

JAVA4DIVA, we hear you loud and clear. (No sacrifices or incense
burning necessary!) Thank so much for the eloquent and clear
explanation of your need.
I agree that not being able to upload pdf files is a HUGE drawback to
Google Docs. There's a lot of smart and good people at Google, they
should be able to make it work. C'mon, people just do it. FoxIt
managed to make pdfs a great alternative to docs (and do an end run
around Adobe), why can't Google?
In my case, I can't use Google Docs just because of this issue. As I
grow my business, I can't contemplate using GD for the same reason.
So, for now it just a novelty, something to be ignored as my time gets
more constrained.
