Ok, I have been looking for plans to build a chaff collector for my large
roaster. The one I am thinking of  may basically be just a drum that the
smoke goes through and the chaff settles out into (clean out door at the
bottom) but I have not found one to inspect or plans anywhere online. I did
find a cool afterburner plans but at like $1500 in parts and the potential
to melt steel I think I will hold off until later on that one.

Aside from the chaff collector ( a little metal cup with with holes in it)
on  my Nesco<http://bsriter.blogspot.com/2009/04/my-little-pleasure-dome.html>
,
I also use my dust buster to suck away any remaining chaff from a newly
roasted batch. Perhaps a shopvac could be used to the same effect on a
larger roaster.
