Hello Everyone!!

I have a question that I need your help with.

(Lately, I have been super busy with my new site www.HippoIMT.com so I
have not been posting to our group. But I'm back now.)

If you take a look at the RESOURCES section of the new website, you
will notice that I plan on creating more whitepapers, e-books, audio
recordings, and online video.

The idea is to provide the information and tools you need to be
successful on the web. (Eventually I may charge for access to this
stuff.)

The book on how and why to use Twitter was my first try at this. I
hope you like it.

**************************
Here's the question...
**************************

What resources would you like to have? What information do you want
someone to spell out for you to make your life easier?

The only guideline is that it needs to be about Internet Marketing.
As you can note from the new site, I am serving website owners, web
developers, and marketing agencies.

Many of you fit at least one of those categories. So what do you
want?

First off, great site and focus. We are all proud of you and your
business! And we know it's Sandy & Jason keeping you afloat...!

One thought would be to give Marketing people a brief test when they
come to that screen, and somehow see how they performed, perhaps
creating a test like this one: http://www.seomoz.org/seo-expert-quiz

This would expose weaknesses/strengths, then you could promote (To
Them) classes that pertain to their SEM experience. I just like to
see interaction I guess, and if I cannot answer questions correctly, I
obviously need training!

Is this the type of feedback you are looking for? Sorry if it's not on
topic, let me know!

Great suggestion Ty.

Also, adding the free tools you have on http://www.hipposentme.com/
would be great unless you already link to hipposentme somewhere (I
didn't see that).

Good ideas. Quizes and tools.

What about content? What topics or information do you think people
want to learn?

What would I like to see as content?

Basics to SEO, where to begin.
How to start your own SEO/SEM company.
Top ten list of SEO techniques.
How to solve canonical issues.
How to solve duplicate content issues.
How to start an effective social media marketing campaign.
How to market on Facebook, LinkedIN
Linking strategies. (Including comment linking on blogs for anchor
text)
How to keep a client happy.
Basics to multivariate testing, why it should be done.
Stand alone, or integrated blog for your client?
How do I optimize for mobile devices?
Writing effective (SEO) copy, press releases for search engines.
Outsource? In house?
Best (top 20) plugins for Wordpress.
How do you bid a job?
How do you structure a contract?
Should I use Elance? Onward Search? If I am looking for SEO jobs.
Why internal linking is good.

These are just a few ideas....

Looks like Ty covered just about everything! One thing I would add is
just how to prioritize everything Internet Marketing wise and also
maybe do specialized SEO techniques, in other words - SEO for selling
products vs SEO for selling a service, etc. I very rarely see anyone
focusing on just one and there are definitely some differences in how
you would market/SEO for a service vs selling products vs other stuff,
etc.

the site looks good. nice direction. good luck with it.

one thing that was mentioned that I agree people would find value in
is a prioritized list of SEO tips. imagine a novice who knows a couple
of the steps to take, finds a larger list of more SEO things he can do
through your site, whats the order? where should he start? what steps
are the most valuable?

just my two cents

Hi folks,

An interesting article on the site could cover the new Google AdWords
campaign setup where you can now manage BOTH standard AdWords and
Content Match campaigns on one screen. I think this eliminates the
need for setting up separate campaigns. I've just started using it.
Also the new Keyword Search Volume Statistics tool - I haven't tried
it yet but am likely to very shortly.

Thank you everyone for your feedback. I really appreciate it.

It sounds as if there is a ken interest in a start to end process for
Internet marketing, especially SEO and AdWords.

There are a lot of "news" sites and blogs out there. But there is
very little in the way of documenting from beginning to end what
exactly should be done to market a site.

Is that the way you feel?

(Keep it coming, any thoughts at all.)

Wow. WilsonWeb.com. I have not visited that site in several years.
Thanks for the link. Not bad.

On a similar note, did anyone review the e-book I wrote about
Twitter? Any new twitterers out there?
