The Barking Challenge 2008 will remain the " same " as last year , rules are the same , you can record a time any time you like between the first and last races of the season , for the hardy remember the first race of the season is at the end of January when the Winter series kicks off .

The course as before is from/to an imaginary line two boatlengths  long  abeam of the Cairndhu Boy (A) either side and the line formed by the bow of the Captyanis" wreck off Helensburgh and the nearby yellow wreck bouy . The course is one way only and can be sailed in either direction .

 Competition is open to FULL HSC Club Members only

NO HANDICAPS APPLY AND ONLY SAIL POWER IS ALLOWED , WINDSURFERS ARE EXCLUDED.

There are prizes for the fastest multihull - (as many hullls as you like)

and the fastest monohull .

Times are to be recorded by crews (on trust ) and witnessed where possible , fast times to be entered onto wall chart at HSC on Race Results Board.

Times will be scrutinised and any dodgy times flung oot, this has only happened once in the full history of the challenge .

One new rule for this year after last years impromptu trial - if you do not turn up to collect your trophy at The HSC prizegiving nor appoint a "collectee" your bottle of "Barking Bubbly " shall be consumed by the assembled on the night
