今天收到公司內聯網的訊息發佈:
公司正式為員工的 Blogging 活動,頒佈指引

終於等到這個消息了,總算打開了企業 Blogging 的官方通道。

以往有些企業,在員工於公司產品/發展/客戶回應上進行 Blogging,
會採取保留甚至禁制的態度, 著名的例子是 Apple:

然而,Blogging 對企業跟客戶、用戶、市場、開發人員/工程師 (在科技公司) 等,
作為直接展開溝通對話的工具,已變得不可或缺。這樣的直接對話--而非經過重重關卡,
仍不知是否搵對人--去把問題、意見和情況反映、討論及回應,要有效和深入得多。

Blog 不像媒體報章、雜誌,讀者是絕對有權並基於自願的情況下,去到相關網頁閱讀
瀏覽文章,因此不像大眾媒體:指定向大眾發售,向大眾灌輸訊息的前題。也因此其目標、
自由度、專注程度也很不同。

Web 2.0 時代其實來臨已久了,我自覺公司早應進行變革,迎接科技帶來的產業轉移。
即使不如 Microsoft, IBM, Sun 等最前線的科技公司 (見上 Scobleizer 的 blog 文),
我仍希望更多公司能夠企出來, 為開放 Blogging 和展開對話的環境,提供明確的
認許和支持。即然發表的內容是有界線、限制的(如不能談及軍事 project 項目, 或是
blog 文不應透露獨犯公司上市內幕交易的條例等),這仍能讓員工在一個基本上開放
的環境裡,實現更好的溝通,推動公司向前發展。

只係公司對員工指引,同企業blogging有d分別吧?

我覺得當blogging 商業化,blog既商業用途就會慢慢減低了。blogging
本來既可愛,係真誠既分享。企業blogging,有d好硬銷,結果咪變左個網頁。又有d變左產品推介會報導,我就好r頭,我想睇既係件新產品你作為blogg er用落有咩感覺,而唔係你去產品會有咩發生(咁咪變左娛記去記招再寫篇報導)。

你說的情況,Dell 就曾經遇過:http://arstechnica.com/old/content/2006/07/7238.ars

當然 Dell 學到了 lesson, 也知道 blog 不能亦不是 marketing 的替代品。

我看到更重要的問題:以員工身份寫 blog, 會否有危險?
如果是 Engineer, 而不是 Business / Marketing 的人,blog 的 focus 好可能是 technical, 跟一般
open source developers 的 blog 沒有兩樣。

但是,公司允許寫嗎?一個指引就有很明確的作用。
想像 Apple 的員工 (見原 post),寫 blog 竟成為被追捕的對像,最後連份工也冇埋。

我覺得作為員工,最好唔好blog同公司/公司業務有關既內容。公司老闆/高層或受薪去blog既另計。
不論有無指引。
你幻想下你下屬寫blog仲要係寫公司相關既,你會唔會間中睇下佢有無講錯野。將心比己,你老闆都可能咁睇你。

你的顧慮也是。發現下屬有錯,要花時間留意指正,但同様寫 blog 的人也要意識到
自己要謹慎,代表公司時更是。讓同事發現自己有錯,也是一個提醒。

不違言,敢於開放企業言路和員工 Blogging,就要預備承受一定的衝擊。

 但這亦代表著,公司管理層和主管將面對更大的問責性。
有時寫 blog 不是「自願」的, 是在嚴重困窘下, 有感而發(長期受壓下的結果)

EA Spouse (當 Electronics Arts 員工之佩偶) 就是另一例子,
不過, EA Spouse 並不算是員工的 blog--然有時員工也要為實際問題發言:

當然,這例子是極端的。但除了正規會議外,平日基本上,很少有機會可以跟公司
不同層面/部門的人溝通接觸,那麼 Blogging 會是一個渠道--重要的是,
它沒有「強迫人」接受聆聽的敝處。

在適當指引下,平衡其利敝,將可發揮平日不曾有的訊息交流和瞭解。
