I have an important job which should ideally be filled by a non-code-contributor or happs newbie. It involves being the Nanny or Maid (whichever you prefer).

Job Description includes:
- Washing Dirty Bugs (categorizing, commenting, correcting, refining): http://code.google.com/p/happstack/
- Putting things where they belong (i.e issues or bugs that are on the mailing list but not on the Issue tracker)
- Putting the kids to bed (some times those bugs like to stay up longer than they should, even when they have already been squashed!)
- Extolling the virtues of proper issue tracking and defect-removal

We need this VERY important role to be filled so that we can stay super organized!

Did I mention that you will get a title? : Official Happstack Bug Nanny (or Maid if you prefer). You can even sign your posts with it!

Looking for that perfect newbie candidate,
Hoping to talk to them soon,
Matthew Elder

P.S. Thanks in advance!

I could perhaps do this. As mentioned, I don't have a lot of time to contribute, but I could keep up with emails and bug-tracking tasks pretty easily, I think. Would probably be good experience for me, though I might change the job title to something like Quality Enforcer or something like that, so I can put it on my resume :). Do we need to put some policies in place around this stuff first?

I would like to raise my hand for consideration.  I'm a relative haskell newbie, and definitely a happs newbie.  My haskell abilities are definitely not good enough to contribute code (yet) but I'd love the opportunity to help advance the project.  I know a good bug report when I see one.  I have quite a bit of experience in reporting bugs though not necessarily to collaborative projects such as this.

I'm not sure what else to add, but I'll cough up more info if anyone wants to know more.

This sounds like a good point of entry for me. I doubt I have much to distinguish me from any other candidates, but I'm happy to help if called upon for this or anything else a newbie can help with.

Best,
Zach

That's pretty cool, three volunteers (so far). This job ("bug czar",
some call it) is more demanding than you might think, so a team might
not be a bad idea..

Sir Clint Moore, I dub thee the bug Czar (or whatever title you would take). I have given everyone who responded here member access to http://code.google.com/p/happstack so please, in all matters regarding bug-slaying and issues, defer to Clint Moore.

Thank you all for your willingness to participate!

Matthew,
I'm glad to see you have no problem making executive decisions. That will be valuable to the project.

Sir Clint,
May it please your czarness to inform his humble servant how he can assist the Most High Nanny!
