Bill Gates, 50, will begin relinquishing most of his day-to-day duties
at the technology giant starting next month to focus more attention on
his philanthropic work, the Microsoft Corporation announced on June 15,
2006.

Although remaining chairman and adviser, he will cease working full
time at Microsoft in June 2008.

"Our business and technical leadership has never been stronger, and
Microsoft is well-positioned for success in the years ahead."
- Bill Gates in a statement at San Francisco Chronicle
