Dear Comrades,

The Revolution is nearly upon us!  What better way to kick off LA PRIDE
than with some direct action?!

As we type, preparations are being made for this Friday, June 9, when,
for the first time ever in Los Angeles, the Guerrilla Gays will be
taking over a famous straight bar.  As one of our first members, you
are on the front lines, so we wanted you to be the first to hear about
what's going down on Friday.

We've been working day and night for a month now  to get the word out
about GGB, and we're really psyched.  We've talked to gay bikers and
bears, twinks, executives, rockers, poker fiends, drag queens,
burlesque dancers, and lots and lots of lesbians.  We've been
gratified to find that most of the people we've talked to have been as
excited for Friday as we are. So, without further ado -

1.  What's the deal for this Friday, anyway??

We will be descending en masse on one of Los Angele's best known
straight bars.  The plan is to completely flood the place in a very
short space of time.  Therefore, we're asking all our comrades (that
would be you) to arrive between 10:15 and 10:30 Friday night.  It will
be a lot more dramatic - and a lot more fun - if we take the place
over in a short span of time.  So, arrive on time to witness the
takeover!

2.  Where's the first takeover going to be?

We'll tell you the location in a separate email on Thursday.

Here's a hint:  It doesn't get much more glamorous - Clark Gable,
Errol Flynn, and Steve McQueen were regulars in the 40's, not to
mention Linda Ronstadt and Supreme Court judge Earl Warren in more
recent times. It's got unmatched rock cred, as well - Jim Morrison was
a barfly there, and it's the joint that served Janis Joplin her last
screwdriver.

It had a decades long anti-gay policy, now ended, so choosing it for
our first guerrilla gay takeover is extra significant - it's a famous
straight bar where gays were not welcome for much of the 20th century.

3. How will I know the other homos?

In order to make it easier to spot each another and break the ice,
we're asking that people wear a shirt that is a solid color of the
rainbow, or else a black arm band.  We'll have a few extra black arm
bands to pass out, so if you forget your solid color shirt, when you
get to the bar and see someone in an armband, s/he should be able to
tell you where you can get one.

4.  Anything else??
