I was just wondering how many of you are going to be attending the SES San Jose conference (either all sessions, or even just checking out the exhibit hall + social events). Historically, dozens of us Googlers have attended and also hosted an evening party which includes a "Meet the Engineers" event. This year is no exception.
It'd be great to meet many of you in person! Even if you're not able to attend, however, you'll undoubtedly be able to find tons of posts here and around the 'net that cover the various sessions, parties, and more. And, of course, you may be able to meet us Googlers (and each other!) at the many other search-related events held around the world.
Anyway, if you're planning on attending SES San Jose this year, please raise your hand and shout "aye!" in a reply below :)

It would be a great learning experience, but I'm afraid I'm not up to hanging with the big dogs yet, just a hobbyist at best, and not sure I'd have too much to contribute.
It would be great if you'd give a juicy tidbit to some struggling blogger while there, I mean it's great and all when Rand, Danny, Barry, etc get exclusives but would be neat if you singled out a D- lister and gave them a token short interview. You could really put someone on the map, so to speak.
I'll be following along in spirit in the blogosphere.

Ever hear of virtual conferences? This is the new millennium, after all.

Understand the distance issue. I expect we'll be going more and more places over the next years, so we may be in your neighborhood before you know it.
JLH - we actually chat one-on-one with dozens of webmasters at each conference (well, in groups, but still). I hear you on the interviewing-the-small-guy, though :). Then again, given the typically meritocratic nature of blogging, there's not much stopping folks from becoming the next Danny or Philipp!
John, interesting idea on the virtual conferences. I can imagine that it'd be logistically rather challenging (keep in mind that third parties set up the "regular" conferences currently -- we just show up ;-), but it's something worth considering.
In a way, though, Webmaster Central is a bit of a virtual conference, right? Handouts, announcements, personal chit-chat, Q&A... only thing we're missing is the fizzy drinks (and I'm not even going to *attempt* the ASCII art!)

I was just presenting in Toronto last month; that's just a pleasant 4.5 hour train ride away from you! I know, because I vacationed for a couple of days in Montreal prior to my Toronto conferencing. 'tis a delightful city!... you're lucky to live in such a place :)

It was a pleasure meeting you last year at the San Jose SES, Adam.
I'm going to be attending again this year, and the chance to visit the Googleplex for the Google Dance is one of the highlights I'm looking forward to.
If you can figure out the fizzy drinks thing (or cold beers for that matter), I'd be all up for a virtual conference.
