What is JuneTune? Within 24 hours, those who follow our Webmaster
Central blog will know (and this thread will be unlocked). In the
meantime, a hint: Block off June 19 (this Thursday) from 2-3pm PDT on
your calendar ;-).

Puzzled by the reference to the time zone UTC, so Wiki'd and what do
you know -
>Local time is UTC plus the time zone offset for that location, ... UTC replaced Greenwich Mean Time on 1 January 1972 as the basis for the main reference ...
Why has it taken me 26 years to catch up? Or is it a bit like
decimilisation in the UK - not really pressed the right buttons?

Red Cardinal, thanks for linking to the blog post.
Beussery, glad you can make it.
Becky, if it's any consolation, I didn't know what UMT was until
recently. I blame the BBC, which always announces the time in GMT.
And to all of you (and others reading this), one thing I'd be thrilled
about would be if we got some "new" folks attending the chat... people
who aren't already "regulars" here. So here's a special offer: If
you bring a friend, you get 30% off your own admission to the chat.
If you bring *three* friends, you get in FREE!
What, you say? It's free for everyone already? Yeah. yeah. true...
but seriously, it'd be awesome if you spread the word so we could all
reach out to more webmasters and make our community here (and beyond)
even better :-)

Would love to make it. Not sure if I'll manage with the messy traffic
we have here in the summer. Roadwork season is upon us, and getting
home can take ages, as that's precisely during the rush hour(s)
period.
I'm hopeful I'll catch at least the tail end of it.

Spare a though for us poor people who live in Cyprus [and elsewhere
outside continental North America for that matter], for although this
island is a beautiful place to live, it is also GMT+2 [GMT+3 at the
moment due to daylight savings time]... which in turn means that at
midnight [when I'm supposed to be in the pub or something] I'll be
sitting at the computer to see what the Googleys have to say for
themselves. ;-)
Actually we were trying to spare a thought for the poor folks who live
in e.g. New Zealand... we're trying out different times so that folks
all over the world can hopefully make it to at least one chat. I
imagine attendance may give us a clue as to which time works best for
the most people.

What a great session and an excellent way to show the human face of
Google. Can you imagine any of the others doing anything like this AND
providing a toll free line.
Thanks a ton for yesterday, what a great opportunity to talk directly
to you guys, I saw several SEO myths put to bed just in the Q&A which
is very refreshing. Can't wait for the next one.
I didn't get two questions answered that I'm really keen to find out
the truth of, I thought I'd post them here on the off chance...
1. Is the use of images for navigation tabs with negatively indented
anchor text (for Accessibility), regarded as suspicious and potential
hidden spam text by Google? It's such a cool technique, I'd love to
use it but I daren't.
2. I know bots can't execute Java script but can Google extract URLs
from Java script and follow them? I've seen conflicting evidence for
this.
I know that you're busy so any time you can spare for this is greatly
appreciated.
