Subject: Where is the "Request a review" page on the Webmaster overview?
I hate asking such a newbie question, but this is driving me nuts. Our
site unexpectedly showed up with this error message today:

"Malicious software includes 1 scripting exploit(s). Successful
infection resulted in an average of 3 new processes on the target
machine.

Malicious software is hosted on 2 domain(s), including chkbnr.com,
chkadw.com.

Has this site acted as an intermediary resulting in further
distribution of malware?

Over the past 90 days, www.boxofficeprophets.com/ did not appear
to function as an intermediary for the infection of any sites.

Has this site hosted malware?

No, this site has not hosted malicious software over the past 90
days.

How did this happen?

In some cases, third parties can add malicious code to legitimate
sites, which would cause us to show the warning message."

In trying to get it fixed, I have been instructed to go into my site's
dashboard (done), select the Overview page (done), and "click Request
a Review"...an option I do not see anywhere. Can someone direct link
me up to the "URL=" portion of the URL?

Thanks in advance.

I'm having the same trouble. I have the same virus, chkbnr.com, on my
site, and I would like google to review my site, but I don't see a
link for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated?

Thanks

If you have the malware you first must clean it up and block all entry
points that could be exploited.
You apply to Stopbadware.org for reviewing I believe and explain what
you cleaned up and how you took care of the vulnerabilties.

From Google Webmaster Tools you can file a reconsideration request.
I'm not aware of any others, but I've not had this problem to see what
Webmaster Tools may show in such a case.

Hi irongiant!

In general, you can find the malware review link in the "Overview"
page of your site in Webmaster Tools. However, you'll have to verify
ownership of the site first (in case you haven't done that already).
It looks like you may have removed the malware already, so you should
be in good shape for a review.

Bacaci, it would be great to know the URL of your site, then we could
take a quick look.

Hope it helps!
John

The closest thing I can find is a link for "Request reconsideration."
It's located on the Dashboard main page, not on the Overview page.
Follow these steps:

When you're on the Overview, look toward the top of the screen.
You'll see 'breadcrumbs" that look like this:

Dashboard > Overview

Click Dashboard.

On the Dashboard screen, look at the list of links on the right side
of the screen.  The last one is "Request reconsideration."  I think
that's what we're looking for.

Hi Bo

Actually, that link is for issues regarding Webmaster Guidelines in
general. You can only see the malware review link if your site has
been recognized has having malware.

I made a screenshot of a test-site that triggers this so that you all
can see it (no, please don't put malware on your site to test it
yourself :-)):

Hope it helps!

I'm having the same problem.  Site (www.scienceboard.net) is being
blocked as having malware, yet the request a review link is not
showing up on the Overview page.
I was able to submit a request via stopbadware.org.  However they say
the blocking is from google.

Well.... now it's showing up.  Only sometimes though.  I can refresh
the Overview page, and maybe a third of the time it comes up with the
malware notification.  The rest of the time.  It seems to think that
everything is a-ok.
