Subject: Old and New Verification Meta Tags
Hi,

I've had my site verified and working well for a year or so using the
vertification meta tag method.

I registered two google user accounts on the web master account; my
personal one and a colleague's account and this has been working well
too.

However, I seemed to have cocked it right up recently and some how or
other managed to change my account by adding and combining my google
email, blogspot and other services and this has resulted in the
removal of my user account from the web master tools.  Truth be known,
I seem to recall deleting a duplicate account I had with google and
this was probably the one registered with web master tools. (>(o)

Anyway long and short of it is that I tried adding my website to my
new web master tools account and now it wants to give me a new
verification ID.

I logged into my colleage's google account and the status is "verify"
so it seems to have 'lost' the previous link to my site's statistics.

Is there anyway I can give google my old verification id and the new
verification id and ask them to link the accounts back together.

My site isn't that great, but I really don't want to loose the year or
so's statistics.

Any help appreciated.

Regards,

Jeremy Pridmore

Hi Jeremy,

Each meta tag value is generated based on website URL + your email.
Changing your email will change the meta tag that we require, so
you'll need to reverify. Just click the 'Verify' link and copy-and-
paste the meta tag that we currently display there onto your site. You
won't "lose" your statistics because they're generated based on your
site's URL, not on which account(s) have that site verified.

Hi Susan,

I have the words "of course!" now ringing in my ears.  I'm slightly
embarrased I hadn't thought that the statistics would be related to
the URL and therefore not lost :)

Thanks for your help.

Jeremy :)
