We have added the meta tag to our homepage at www.arightresult.com but
are receiving the message 'we couldn't find your verification tag' in
response. Is there something amiss with the setup of the site? The
reason we are seeking verification is to put in a Reconsideration
Request - but cannot do this until the site is verified etc.

Googlebot would end up there as well, if you go by geo-location of the
visitor's IP address, unless you are cloaking that for Googlebot.

Doesn't look like you are going by user agent string if you are
cloaking.

In any case, there's nothing useful, and certainly no verification
meta tag, at the location you are redirecting to.

Even if you did let Googlebot in, that would be against the rules.
Googlebot must see the same thing any visitor from the same region as
Googlebot sees.
