Subject: link exchange scheme
recently, theirs some webmaster read the link scheme about link
exchange. And most of them got worried about! A clarification should
be given to them. How does webmaster do link trade now?

Despite what some say, link exchanges are fine. You may not get as
much of a boost from exchanged links as you would relevant one way
links but exchanging links with RELATED sites is not going to cause a
penalty. That being said you should avoid getting involved with link
networks, three way linking schemes, and other schemes designed to
fool the engines to increase link popularity. If you are exchanging
links with every site under the sign the engines will rightfully
discount those links and if you are linking out to bad neighborhoods
you could be penalized. I would avoid trading links with sites that
talk about increasing page rank, focus on how the links will help you
in the search engines, or are in no way related to your site and
instead focus on trading with sites that can send you relevant
traffic. If you do that and you have a good mix of exchanged links and
relevant one way links you will be fine.
