Subject: How to remove information from Google search
http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2007/06/googles-email-comm...

I'm posting some tips about content removal here on behalf of one of
our blog readers (since this forum is a much better venue for
troubleshooting than are blog comments).

Bette, it sounds like you want to remove some information from Google
search. We don't provide individual support over email, but we do
provide tools so that you can fix these issues yourself without
needing to contact Google. You can generally find information like
this by searching in our Help Center:

http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/

The first thing you need to do is decide whether the content you want
to remove is on a site you have control over, or on someone else's
site. Here's why:

If the content is on a site you don't own or have control over, you'll
need to talk to the owner of that site first and ask him/her to remove
or block the content. Google simply aggregates information already
published on the web; so even if we were able to eliminate the page in
question from our index, it would still exist on the web. If the site
is available on the internet, we would likely pick it up and add it to
our index again the next time we recrawled that site. Only the site's
webmaster can, by removing the content (or including code that blocks
our robots), prevent a page from appearing on Google.

Here's information on how to contact a site's webmaster:

If the content is on your own site, however, you can remove it
yourself. Add the site to your Webmaster Tools account and then use
the URL removal tool to remove the URL(s) in question.

Here's how to add a site to Webmaster Tools:

Here's how to find and use the URL removal tool:

If you have any further questions about these processes, or how to
figure out what your next step is, feel free to post them here.
