Hi Google Sites owners!

I'm happy to announce that you can now verify and submit a Sitemap for
your Google Sites with Webmaster Tools.  To verify your Site, go "Site
Settings" -> "Other Stuff" and paste in your verification meta tag in
the field labeled "Google Webmaster Tools verification."

Once you have verified your site, Google Sites auto-generates a
Sitemap XML file that you can add to your Webmaster Tools account.

For more details, check out the following Help Center article:

Have fun!
Reid

Google Pages are not Google Sites.
Sites built with Page Creator can be verified easily by uploading the
verification file.

The problem was for Google Sites:
http://sites.google.com/
Aa different product.

O!
What's the different? (should I move there?)

And for now, I tried to add the file, and i did, but since it doesn't
end with .HTML it doesn't recognize it...(or is it just me?)

Thank you!

How did I get in here? I was on a page discussing Website Maps!!
Never mind!  I found it curious, that mention of Settings and Other
Stuff. Any way I was not the first one! Ha! Ha!...

For Google sites you may ONLY verify by meta tag, as
Reid indicated at teh to of this thread.

For Google Pages you may ONLY verify by verification  file as I said.

This doesn't work for a lot of the template based programs like
Quickblogcast and many others as they will not allow html to be
installed in the code or a .html page.  There needs to ba another
option like code you can install in your side bar or something similar
- Quantcast and several other analytics websites do this.

This thread does NOT deal with what you are talking about - ONLY with
Google SItes.

Take it up with those other product providers - it's not Google's
problem that you are unable to control your own website. Really isn't.

You can most certainly upload the verification file  to a Page Creator
account.
Look over to the right side under Uploaded Stuff. And upload your
file.
