Subject: How can I verify my google sites site?
Hi,
How can I verify my google sites wiki since google sites do not allow
you to add meta tags, or upload html files?
Thanks for your help

Hey Whirlybird,
Thanks for the feedback. This is definitely something that the
Webmaster Tools team is looking into.

Here's a partial work-round, alluded to by
http://groups.google.com/group/Google_Webmaster_Help-Tools/browse_thr...
above
1) Enter your home page name to be verified, e.g. https://sites.google.com/site/mysite/Home/
2) Select "Verify by uploading HTML file"
3) Create empty file of given name
4) Go to your home page and do "Insert -> Image", browse for
that .html file and upload it.
5) Ignore the warning that it's a peculiar image
6) Select to verify on the Webmaster tools
Now you need to create pages as sub-pages of that Home page, rather
than top-level pages. Not so good, which is why I describe this as a
partial workround.
I tried creating pages with names like google0123456789abcdef.html but
the "." gets stripped out, so fails. I've not yet found a way to
upload an .html file at top level.
