Subject: Check out the short video of Amanda, Webmaster Tools engineer
Hey there,
I happened to just stumble on this... and indeed, it's just two hours old!
Well worth watching to get a personal glimpse of how one of our much- loved Webmaster Tools engineers feels about the project :-)

Why do I have the feeling that video is the first Amanda has seen the
light of the sun for quite some time?
Considering this upgrade and the just recent face lift, I'm guessing that Amanda has been one busy Googler of late!
That won't, three weeks from now, stop me from asking, "What have you done for me lately!?!?!?" :-()
Seriously though, great work Amanda on the tools face lift and upgrade and thanks very much for giving us a little insight of much Googler's love what they do!
:-)

Nice one :-)
It's also great to see how obviously enthused she is about what she does on a day to day basis.

That'll be because, as those of us who have seen every episode of
Frasier about 20 times know, it's always raining in Seattle.
But, as Sasch says, what wonderful enthusiasm, and lucky girl to have a job she clearly loves so much - and lucky us, too.

I started toying with the idea of a response video.
Cue webmaster: "Oh NO!!! What's happened NOW?!?"
But I suspect the profanity would be an issue. Alone at your screen, no one can hear you swear.

You know, I fully understand what may be Google's motives in being so
intransigent.
Why should they provide debugging services for all and sundry without cashflow?
Precedents are dangerous - of the ten days it sometimes takes them to respond, maybe nine are spent with legal.
And also - they have good reason for blurring the edges of the envelope.
DOESN'T MAKE IT ANY LESS FRUSTRATING!
I know, I know. I'll take another pill. I'm out tomorrow. My daughter's getting married and I have a 40-year school reunion. See you Sunday.

I think the white backdrop adds a touch of quality and professionalism
to almost any video. For a response video could you borrow Matt's
terrorist hiding cell as a backdrop.
"That'll be because, as those of us who have seen every episode of Frasier about 20 times know, it's always raining in Seattle."
Amanda reminded me a little bit of Roz.
I think many perceive Google to be one massive network of hardware with no human interface and it's comforting to see an attractive face that dispels that myth.
