Subject: Re-Inclusion After Removal for "Hidden Text"
Please reconsider site for reinclusion that was removed yesterday for
"hidden text" violation:

http://www.newyorkartworld.com

the page where the violation occurred was:
http://www.newyorkartworld.com/reviews/matta-clark.html

(This hidden text was never meant to be deceptive)

This page is an Art Review on Matta-Clark and at this time it
contained no jpegs or images-pictures.

The author of the Review had sent me the review along with descriptive
Captions in text to go along with the pictures-images-jpegs when I was
to receive them from another source at another time, after I created
the page.

I had kept the Captions-text at the bottom of the page (as a holding
place) waiting for the pictures to come in, and I had never received
the pictures, and then forgot that it was there.

I put the Caption-text at the bottom of its related page, since I
thought I would lose the Caption text if I put it somewhere else. Then
I would not be able to find this descriptive caption text when I went
to look for it.

I got your email yesterday (Sept 26, 2007) that was just a few hours
notice on this site removal problem and never had a chance to correct
it in time or to respond to anyone about it. Also, I am having
problems getting around the google site while trying to correct this.

The Caption-text was never meant to be deceptive. It was only used as
a tool to build the page while waiting for other necessary elements to
come in.

I would appreciate your help in reincluding this site as soon as
possible. I don't think it is fair to have to wait 2 months to be
reincluded when my site was removed in just a few moments on one day
without much notice. I don't think that my violation was offensive,
but I understand it was a violation on your terms, and I will not do
it again.

I have inserted the Meta Tag and have tried to verify it, but the
verify button does not seem to be working.

Thank you for your help,

Site Owner

Hi newyorkartworld--

I'm glad you're working to improve your site! Please submit your
reconsideration request through webmaster tools, since it won't get
into the correct pipeline if you just post it in this group. It looks
like your meta verification tag is correctly located on your homepage,
so you should be able to verify the site and then submit your
reconsideration request via webmaster tools.

If you're still having verification problems, feel free to post back
here with more details about what you've tried and what errors you're
seeing.

Subject: Re: Re-Inclusion After Removal for "Hidden Text"

Hello Susan Moskaw at google

I received the following answer at bottom from Google. I worked with
his advice and information for an entire night and could not figure
out what i was not doing correctly. When i checked out web sites i
found that they did not include a Doc Type at top (something that I
have never used. However they do include the <-open bracket html-
closed bracekt followed by open bracket head-closed bracket (this is
what I have always used) and they still seem to be listed on google.

i need some more specific advice. And I would like to know, now that I
have eliminated "hidden text" if my site will be reconsidered, and or
how to fix my headers material along with the broken links.

I appreciate your help.

While you're waiting, I'd fix your head area errors;

and the 263 broken links...

Hope you get included soon.

Hi again--
I'd just like to clarify that the message you're quoting was not from
Google, it was from another member of this group, gt:
http://groups.google.com/group/Google_Webmaster_Help-Tools/msg/53796a...
You can tell whether a message is from a Google employee by whether
there's a blue 'G' badge next to the author's username. All Googlers'
posts are marked with blue badges.

Regarding the advice gt gave you, there are many good reasons to fix
HTML validation errors and broken links, but they will likely not have
an effect on your reconsideration request. If you've submitted your
request via our webmaster tools ( https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/
), then your site will be reconsidered for inclusion in our index.

If you'd like pointers on how to fix your validation errors, you could
try asking gt for clarification, or do a web search for [HTML
tutorial] or [learn to write valid HTML]. The HTML validator at
validator.w3.org also gives an explanation of each error it finds.

One of the errors is one of yours - the verification tag.

Subject: Re: Re-Inclusion After Removal for "Hidden Text"
Hello Out There - On October 11th I was removed from Googles natural
listings. I was sent an e-mail by the Google quality team that said I
had Hidden Text I needed to remove. I had my webmaster do so
immediately. I was forwarded a link for reinclusion. It was a request
reconsideration page. On the page you are prompted to a Choose Site
button but when I click that key it doesn't allow me to enter my site.
Then it asks you to fill out the reason for your hidden text and then
hit the request reconsideration tab key. When I got to that point the
Request reconsideration key was grayed out therefore not allowing me
to submit it. I don't know if I will be automatically re-submitted
after 30 days or only after i have submitted this request. I was in
the top 5 for 15-20 categories and now only my sponsored links are
showing. Please Help.

Kurt, you'll need to verify your site in webmaster tools before you
can request reconsideration of it. Here's how to do so:

http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=35181

Once you've verified it, it will appear in the drop-down list on the
reconsideration request form and you can select it. Once you've
selected the site in that drop-down, the Submit button will become
active and you can submit the request.
