I've just started using the Google Webmaster Tools recently and found that my main site isn't indexed by google at all. I said main site because I'm hosting a subdomain for a friend of mine at dice.apesconcert.com that points to blogger(blogspot)'s custom domain. And dice.apesconcert.com gets crawled and indexed by google just fine.
I've been submitting my sitemap to webmaster tools for quite a few days and they all return with the same error message: Network unreachable: DNS issue. To confirm this, I ran a tcpdump(sniffer) on port 80 of my webserver and then submitted my sitemap, then I re- checked the webmaster tools and found that google tried and failed with the same dns issue message. I then stopped the capture and looked through it and found no IPs from google. This may mean that somehow google was not able to resolve apesconcert.com to even hit my http port.
Then I tried dnsstuff to check my domain name for any serious issues with my nameservers which turned out fine. Other than unreachable for 1 out of the 4 nameservers i have, the rest were warnings or mx related issues)
I'm not exactly sure how google resolves domain names, so I even tried changing the order of the nameservers listed for my domain, so far that did not seem to work as well.

I've actually got another domain name running off the same IP, nameservers, webserver under virtual hosting, yet it gets crawled without sitemap.xml and robots.txt even though it's just an index.html that has no links. So based on that I can safely rule out dynamic IP issues?

Hi mervyn-- Googlebot is still getting "DNS unreachable" when it tries to access your site. I'm also not sure how you were able to verify your site, since I don't see either the verification meta tag or HTML file still on your site. I'll look into it further on my end, but you might also want to double-check whether there are any differences in server configuration between your two sites that may be causing the problems with apesconcert, but not with your other site.

Hi Phil, thanks for trying all the above. I've signed up for a webhosting plan and redirected all traffic using 301s to the new domain on the webhosting company's address. I'm going to keep the 301s on for awhile to make sure all traffic learns of the new name, therefore I won't be using apesconcert.com for awhile. The new domain name works flawlessly on Google webmaster tools. Thank you for your time.

Thank you for looking into the issue, unless afraid.org is selective in blocking Googlebot on certain domain names, otherwise I doubt it's afraid.org as I've another domain on afraid.org that works fine on Webmaster Tools. As I've mentioned in the post before this, I've signed up with a webhosting company and have a new domain name. Apesconcert kept giving me concert related ads on the site even with section targeting, and stuffing competitive ads filter with too many urls makes things worse somehow. I won't be able to find out the actual reason why I kept getting dns related issues with apesconcert at the moment as I'm permanently redirecting all traffic to the new domain name and will keep it that way for awhile. Thank you for your time.
