Subject: 500 sites limit on Webmaster tools account
Hi,
We host thousands of shopping sites, i was trying register some of our
merchants under our webmaster tools account, looks like there is 500
sites limit per Webmaster tools account, so i was wondering any way
you can increase that limit??

Here is the error message i'm seeing in Google Webmaster account

"You can add up to 500 sites to your account."

Hi Chandler and welcome to the groups!

At the moment the 500 site limit cannot be lifted for individual
accounts. You might however want to take a look at the Webmaster Tools
API, which allows you to verify sites and submit Sitemaps
automatically: http://code.google.com/apis/webmastertools/

Hope it helps!
John

Thanks for the quick response John, I'm with Amazon Webstore Team ,
already talked with "Jonathan" @ SES Sanjose about this issue, lost
his email address so I'm posting my question here :). btw we already
using Webmaster tools API's to add & verify our merchant sites ,so any
way you can bump up this number for partners??

Hi Chandler
I work together with Jonathan :). At the moment, there isn't a way to
increase the limit for individual users. Just out of curiosity, how
many sites would you like to have verified there and what kind of
information are you looking to get out of having so many sites
verified with one account?

Thanks for your feedback!
John

Hi John,
I want to start with about 4000- 5000 sites, mainly interested in
crawling errors, errors in sitemaps and query stats and page analysis
data for all our sites.

what's the process to upgrade individual accounts ??  I also noticed
Google BOT activity dropped by almost 50% in last few days , just
wondering anyone i could talk to on that issue as well.

Lats week I submitted request for Google Webmaster provider account,
no one contacted me yet.

Thanks
Chandler

Hi Chandler

Regarding the drop in Googlebot activity, I would recommend starting a
new thread, perhaps mentioning some of the sites that are involved.

Regarding the Webmaster Tools provider account, I think this is
something that is handled & approved manually, so it's possible that
it might take a bit of time.

Hope it helps!
John
