Access to www.youtube.com site has been suspended in accordance with decision no: 2007/384 dated 06.03.2007 of Istanbul First Criminal Peace Court.
This is what we see today, when we want to access www.youtube.com in Turkey... We don't deserve any entertaining site, why? Because we are old- fashioned. We don't know any way to respond to the silly jokes. The only way is suspending the site and that means to attack our freedom, our personal rights who live in Turkey... We want our freedom, our rights back....
Any idea how the "filtering" is done? It almost looks like an ISP level filtering, i.e. effectively firewalling the entire country and being able to filter/redirect whatever desired.
If that is the case, since Turkey has been such a great source of http proxies for many years for many people in need of them, you might check out what Professor Google has to say about http proxies in other parts of the world.
That might be a way to redirect around any possible redirect. hint hint! :-)
You shouldn't even have to go all 1337 ha><0r on them to gain access to your freedom, just side step them, maybe waving as you go by might be a nice gesture. ;-)

Here's a trick: try www.tubefetch.com -- it was posted in a different thread here.
I have a bad feeling about using Youtube directly through proxies, something about slower than molasses in Alaska... There are sites that offer proxy lists that might work with Youtube, but I haven't tried them.
Also of course keep in mind that the issues involved might be something that could get you into trouble for circumventing not being able to access youtube directly... I certainly would not want to get you into trouble (by using a download-site or a proxy) and would not want to promote any illegal activity. We can only show you possibilities, we cannot check to make sure that they are legal in your region. Use at your own risk ....
For those of you outside of Turkey, here's a proxy located in Turkey: 195.175.37.71:80 (tip: log out of Google first, no need to spread your login information around).
It brings the following message (when accessing youtube.com):
I created this group for TubeFetch (my site). Hopefully this will help you to get past your problem of YouTube. Feel free to join, and if it works definitely feel free to invite people in a similar situation to you.
