 More options Aug 9 2007, 1:21 pm

Subject: Problem, but might constitute a suggestion...
I have a problem emailing alerts to myself when I post on the G
Groups.  The option (link) eventually just dissappeared (when you
click 'more options' at the top of the post).  Just to make sure you
know, I'm not talking about Google Alerts - I'm talking about where
there is a link in 'more options' at the top of the post that says
something like 'email new posts in this group to me'.  I believe it is
because you can only have email alerts on a limited number of posts.
That wouldn't be a problem if there was an easy way to go through and
cancel email alerts on old posts.  These  posts get buried deep in the
groups though and seems like it would take much time if there are
many.

If there is an easy way to do this, please let me know.  If there is
not, well that's my suggestion.

Thanks,

Tim

Wow... the 'email updates to me' link is there in this group.  It is
still not in 'crawling, indexing, & ranking'.  Apparently it is a
group-specific limitation or something.

Still hoping there is an easy way...

Wow... this forum is dead.  But in case anyone is searching for the
same answer and finds this post... just needed to open my eyes further
(and scroll up).  I didn't notice there was an 'options' link at the
top above all the 'more options' links.  So its at the top next to the
forum title - not the posts.

I clicked the help link on top of page and
there I searched for email updates and
I found this
http://groups.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=52840
with how to set email updates in the paragraph titled
How to subscribe to a topic

Right.  I didn't think about searching because it wasn't that I didn't
know how (in a way).  I had been doing it for a year, but didn't
notice there were two places on the page for options.  I was looking
in the wrong option link so I just thought the 'email updates to me'
link was missing.  I feel a little stupid but I'll try to convince
myself that anyone could have made that mistake.

Thanks.
