Hi nick_of_london,
As doc pointed out with a search for [site:dharma-research.com], your
site is currently indexed by Google, including the home page.
I believe you'd benefit from reading Google's Webmaster Guidelines,
which offer advice on making your site good for Google and your
visitors:

Specifically, I'd like to call out a couple of points from the Quality
Guidelines section:
- Avoid hidden text or hidden links.
- Don't create multiple pages, subdomains, or domains with
substantially duplicate content.
To make sure that Google properly understands and ranks pages, we
recommend that webmasters show the same content to users and search
engines. At the bottom of your pages, I noticed some text that is
hidden from users. Here's a small snippet from your homepage:
"Dharma Initiative Hanso Foundation Lost T-Shirt Tshirt T Shirt 4 8 15
16 23 42 Alvar Hanso ghost ghosts spirit form spirit forms spirits
phantom phantoms"
Looking at the site: search of your site, I saw several pages: index
2.asp, index3.asp , index4.asp, etc, that all appeared to have the
same content, and as part of a traffic generation program, were
created with the intent of manipulating search engine rankings.
As these practices violate our guidelines, they could have a harmful
effect on how your site is indexed and ranked in Google. It looks like
you've already taken a positive step in addressing these issues
(presumably under doc's advice regarding duplicate content), as the
duplicate pages I found in the site: search are now showing a 404
status. Once you believe your site does follow our guidelines, feel
free to file a reconsideration request in Webmaster Tools:

Cheers,
Wysz
