Hi Chris,
So I got through to the programmer briefly on thursday but Im not sure
if anything has really changed yet. I'm going to speak to her also
about changing our javascript drop down menu to CSS if it's causing
problems (I had no idea about the problem you mentioned and would be
curious to know what browser you are using).
I'm still very concerned. Maybe there are other technical issues that
are affecting the rankings that I don't know about? I came across this
site http://www.wordsinarow.com/seo-technical-points.html , but I
don't know if the errors these tools are pointing out would really be
the cause of such a dramatic drop in traffic even though I will still
pass the info over to the programmer.
Another shocking development, just today I saw that our ranking for
aluminum patio furniture dropped from #1 (which we've steadily been
there for many months) to the second page of the SERPs further making
me nervous since I still have no idea what's really going on.
From my webmaster tools, most of the errors were gone so I'm assuming
the programmer did something to improve the situation.
Could it be the dropdowns then? Is there more that I'm missing? Could
the problem be due to the way the site was coded?
I also tried submitting our sitemap through google webmaster tools,
but that didn't work due to the formatting. I'm still looking for
clues...
