You think that is strange?  I have a private site where one can't get
past the entrance page without a log in.  Each person that logs in has
their IP, at access time, logged.  I've had to IP ban google-bots IPs
because somehow they seemed to be accessing various members'
accounts.  How that happens is beyond me although since the google-
bots IP addresses are easily determined, blocking them has been no
problem.

Interestingly enough though, this site I mention contains adult
content.  :-()

i have often wondered why paypal secure pages (post log-in) show a PR
of 8. Although secure, clearly paypal (and presumably your adult site)
generate a lot of traffic, so is the PR in these circumstances based
on metrics gathered from the google toolbar?

Our googlebot is resourceful, but doesn't pick locks ;-).

More specifically, it does not type in username/password combos, and
thus does not access members-only pages unless:
- links to those pages are included somewhere on the Web *and*
- somehow those links include a username-password combo that (via GET)
provides access to the info on those pages for the Googlebot or any
browser or human visitor.  Or there are other links to the page that
do not require authentication.

As for the PR showing... it's my understanding that the toolbar is
using non-private info (PR data from other pages in that domain) to
extrapolate/infer/guess a PR for that page :).

Thank you Adam
'using non-private info (PR data from other pages in that domain' ) -
that explains the paypal PR.
