I have a relatively new website (started April 2007) and I have two
main problems:
First, virtually all my posts are in the supplemental index. Having
reviewed many of the questions here, I think the way to get them out
of the SI is to get inbound links to the posts - is this the best/
quickest way?
Second, when my site appears in the google results page, the site url
is shown rather than the permalink.
Here is an example of a search query I picked up from my Hittail
results:
http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=oprah%20dog%20toy...
[oprah dog toy - just in case the link does not work]
Which appears in the google results as follows:
Read Dog Topics for a happy, healthy and loved dog | Dog Topics
Gracie choked to death after swallowing a small dog toy that belonged
to
Sophie, one of Oprah's other dogs. Desperate attempts to save Gracie
were
in vain, ...
www.dogtopics.com/ - 37k - Cached - Similar pages - Note this
Just my main page is indexed, and when people go to my site they have
to
search for the post as it's now at towards the bottom of the
homepage.
Any ideas please on how I can get the permalink in the search result
rather than just my site url so that readers are taken directly to the
post rather than to the home page where they have to look for it
(which they aren't!).
I have done the following:
submitted a site map
have a robots.txt file
have a 301 redirect from http://dogtopics.com to http://www.dogtopics.com
Many thanks in advance.
