Thanks! I have removed the duplicate posting in the other group.
While I check on getting the URL to you... Here's something you'd find if you visited any of the subdomains. The URL illinois.sitename.com gets redirected to http://www.sitename.com/?searchparameter. There are only two parameters there.
In the sitemap, http://illinois.sitename.com/chicago is its own page with content that is basically similar to other city pages but with the city and state names changed.
In regards to the search queries part (sorry i missed that one)...
I am using a tool to import a large .txt file of possible keyword combinations and using it to search google for the page rank for 20-30 at a time for that particular subdomain.

I completely understand your frustration, webado. Sometimes permission to post URLs can take some time. Ok, here's the URL and an example of a set of search queries.
verified URL: virginia.rentalhomesplus.com page within URL that ranks in this case: virginia.rentalhomesplus.com/ norfolk
home rental in Norfolk home rentals in Norfolk house for rent in Norfolk house rental in Norfolk house rentals Norfolk houses for rent in Norfolk Norfolk home rental Norfolk home rentals Norfolk house for rent Norfolk house rental Norfolk house rentals Norfolk houses for rent Norfolk rental home Norfolk rental homes Norfolk rental house Norfolk rental houses rental home in Norfolk rental homes in Norfolk
We were doing reasonably well for most of these phrases. then, the positions started dropping after we verified the subdomains until they fell off completely yesterday.

The head tags all need to be closed with > and not with /> since you are not using an xhtml doctype. The charset meta tag and verification meta tag both are improperly closed. A broken head hampers indexing of the page's contents, sometimes to total exclusion.

In the dashboard, I have a complete list of verified subdomains, one for each state. Meta tag verification was used.
The actual subdomain URL virginia.rentalhomesplus.com may redirect to a folder but that's not really an important URL for us. I'm actually far more concerned that the URLs from the sitemap like virginia.rentalhomesplus.com/norfolk get indexed and not loose their positions.
So, if we don't focus on virginia.rentalhomesplus.com, do you have any suggestions or ideas as to why virginia.rentalhomesplus.com/norfolk would have dropped off so drastically?

Well thats' the url you gave me as a subdoamin you submitted and are trying to get indexed - and I told you why that cannot be.
The url virginia.rentalhomesplus.com/norfolk itself is not indexed.
It won't be indexed if it's not linked to from anywhere else that is indexed so it can be discovered during a normal crawl.
Other pages on that subdomain are indexed. But links from that page seem to all go to the domain, do not stay on the subdomain. So no ide where links to pages on that subdoamin came from.
Why don't you fix all your navigation and not jump form subdomain to folder and back. It's very confusing and self-defeating.

The sitemap is not what drives the indexing process. All urls to be indexed have to be discovered during a crawl starting at whatever initial url you submit.

Not total coincidence. The broken haad would cause grief. Had it not been broken then you'd only have the navigation to worry about which is enough in itself to cause trouble from what I can see, unless there are lots of other links pointing all over the place allowing thsoe pages to be discovered somehow.
So it's not that your site isn't showing up, it's just not showing up high, and there is a huge number of other sites all competing for the same keyphrases.
