Subject: Search Results
Not sure how to phrase this questions or if I am even posting in the
right group.

My company owns two domains.  One is called pdit.com and the other is
modulant.com.  When someone enters the word modulant in google search
the URL that is displayed is www.pdit.com.  Management wants the URL
to show www.modulant.com.  The same if someone enters a keyword search
for pdit then the URL should show www.modulant.com.

Get see what I am writing about, go to google and enter the word
modulant.  The URL displayed is www.pdit.com which management wants
change to www.modulant.com.

Is this as simply as changing the DNS record for www.pdit.com from an
A record to a CNAME pointing to www.modulant.com.

Thanks for the help.

Hi snormoyle,

Welcome to the group!

To direct Google (and users) to your preferred domain, simply set up a
301 redirect from pages on www.pdit.com to their equivalents on
www.modulant.com. This will let Google know that your pages have been
permanently moved to www.modulant.com, and users will get to the
correct page regardless of which domain they use.

This topic and more are covered in the group's FAQ pages. To get the
most out of this group, I suggest taking a quick look at them for some
more commonly asked questions about your site and Google.
