Subject: Flex
Hi,

My webpage is all flex, I added my metadata info in the html file so
that the googlebots can pick up my info.  Its not picking up my
content and I know why because I read other postings.  My question is
is there a way to set up my content somehere so that it gets picked up
by the google bots.  Meaning I would be willing to post my content
twice, once in the swf and second in another way. Does Googlebots pick
up comments(<--)?  If that was the case I could add my content that
way. Help!!!  Like I said I am will to setup my content twice,

Cheers,

Soph

Hi Soph and welcome to the groups!

At the moment & as far as I know, we do not index Flex content. That
said, in general it would make sense to make sure that your content is
available in a "standard" HTML page anyway so that users who can not
view Flex content either can still profit from your content. I would
not recommend using HTML comments since users can't see them and we
generally ignore them as well.

Hope it helps, good luck with your site!

John

PS It would be interesting to see how you do this, so I'd love to see
your URL later on :)

Hi John,

Thanks for responding.  I need a way to pick up my web page content.
Since I know google bots do not read index flex content my plan was to
have my content in two places, one in my swf file where in can be
viewed by users and not googlebots and a second place where it can not
be viewed by users but picked up by google bots.  I was hoping HTML
comments where read by google bots.  Do you know of way I can add
content to a html file that can be read by google bots but not
users?

P.S. If I was not clear in my first posting my webage has an html
index file that calls the swf file.  Google bots are picking up my
site descption because I added a Metadata tag to this file however the
content is not getting picked up.

Cheers,

Soph
