I logged into my personalized homepage to add a new bookmark to my list -- it loaded with the "Edit Bookmarks" thing up and no bookmarks listed I added the new bookmark and hit "Save" thinking that it was just a momentary glitch in displaying the bookmark list, but the one that I just entered is the only bookmark that I can see!
The Google Help page referred me to a page which asked what the problem was about and that then redirected me to this web group.
How can I get in touch with someone to solve this problem? How can I get my bookmarks back?

i must be having a bad day, sorry for the double post...
anyway yes my google bookmarks evaporated today also. just left with the add your first bookmark dialogue... :(
so many tech and motorcycle forums, all the important ip links to various network resources here at work... ugh. will begin to rebuild and make sure to take a screenshot this time.
i went out and then back into my login and personalized homepage, no dice.
i tried removing and re-adding the plugin, no dice.

yup, same here! also including the top 5 heavy hitters I added back were duped in the list with variations on how i capitalized or spaced the 'display name'
quick take a <PrtScn> and then run mspaint and hit <Ctrl> + V before they blink off again!

My bookmarks also disappeared! AGGH! I hope they come back. Perhaps I will have to return to my more primative method of saving bookmarks in a Word document. If anyone knows how to get bookmarks back please post.

Ok, wow. Sorry to hear about this, everyone. I haven't yet figured out what the problem is, but just wanted to jump in and let you all know that I hear you loud and clear.
Banaticus and sheik*yerbouti, before your bookmarks came back, did you do anything in particular (like clear cache and cookies, for example?) or did they just come back on their own?
My bookmarks have also just disappeared - and I have no backup! I never touched the delete button, and even tried the dedicated google bookmarks page, which also says I have no bookmarks. I am definitly logged in under my normal account.
Please restore asap, this seems to be a very widespread problem!
I think Google has had a server crash or something. My bookmarks haven't come back yet, and my support request has gone without even an automated response. And for the record, no matter what Banaticus and sheik*yerbouti say, I cleared my cookies/cache and nothing came back, so it won't help you. I even tried a different browser, to no avail. I hope they fix this soon, because half of my bookmarks are URIs for sites I have long forgotten the addresses of, like old forum posts and stuff. If they're gone, I'm going to have to do some major research to get the stuff back into my bookmarks, and I don't have time for that.
FYI, mine are back. Google must be doing rolling maintenance. I think, given my experience, that no one should panic unless their bookmarks are gone for more than four hours.
they're back! they're back!! yay!!! except now I got doubles of everything cuz I re-added everything each time it vanished but deleted what I don't want is much better than losing it all over again...yay!!!

I don't know if this is a different topic or related....but my homepage bookmarks disappeared today because of what looks like a different reason.........
I had a BOOKMARKS module on my google homepage, then I started using GOOGLE BOOKMARKS on the dedicated page. Today I decided to add the GOOGLE BOOKMARKS to homepage. When I did, the existing listing in the BOOKMARKS module all disappeared. The module is still there....but now it is blank. The GOOGLE BOOKMARKS are in a separate module....at least they look separate.
Apparently I made the wrong assumption that these were 2 distinct features. There was no warning that this would overwrite or cause exisitng module to empty itself.
Is there any way to recover those homepage bookmarks (where were intentionally a different collection than IE FAVORITIES or GOOGLE BOOKMARKS)?
Open these cookies, and they contain the xml for all of the bookmarks. I saved this, in case of loss. The only problem is they are "unavailable" in the /ig homepage ... but clearly available when you click the gadget title "Bookmarks".
