My personalized homepage JUST came back up, and was down since 11am EST. Good luck to everyone else! Google: hopefully you can learn from this situation, and the roughly 600 comments about this issue.
Mine was gone. I contacted google through the igoogle help area. now my homepage is back like it was before this fiasco. It would be nice if they would tell us what the heck is going on......

Make that number 654. Mine is now working...at least on my laptop. I'll check tomorrow at work. It looks like it all came back. Too many bookmarks to count, but the newest stuff is there. I was pissed and still believe they should have asked, but props to the tech crew for getting us (for the most part) back up. Now, just get rid of the "i".

what's slightly reassuring is that the traders seem to know that and that the share price a come down about 12 dollars since the 26th... in a way, it is reassuring :)
Google, you have broken my heart. I had such faith! I was going to speak to a group of women next month about organizational tools and you - YOU! - were going to be my top example.
You were my everything, and now...now I just don't know.
It's not like you to be so quiet, Google. Please, just let me know you're listening! Let me know that you care! (See also, PR 101.)
We still have a chance to make this work. You've just gotta meet me halfway.
To everyone on this thread. It will be fix, your data will be recovered. If there is one thing Google can do what is hard for the day to day user, it is redundancy. The outage is annoying, and being able to back up data would be handy, but the bits aren't gone, they are in several places.
Mine is back as well!!! It was gone all day at work yesterday; when I went home I had it back. I am back into work this morning and it is still back!!! Thanks for restoring my homepage!
By the way, the name "iGoogle" is very disappointing. You guys could have come up with something better than that...

So where do we go from here? I'm not sure that anyone at google is taking any notice of this thread and the 670, and counting, messages in it. Like many others, the personalisations I had made to my homepage disappeared on April 26th, 6 days ago, and is still not back. I found no official comment by google except in this thread by a 'Jamie' who I assumed worked for google (although it could have been posted by some crafty trickster) who asked those still affected to add a 'mine's not back' comment to this thread. I can't find any other information from google anywhere and feel sorry for those web users that don't know what a newsgroup is and are probably thinking that they have messed their computers up and are messing around with restore points etc trying to get their page back. Indeed, if 'Jamie' did work for them he's probably been fired by now for being silly enough to admit to end users that there was a problem, although he might have won some brownie points for telling people not to bother the important people at google by using the contact form. (http:// www.google.com/support/bin/request.py?contact_type=gph)
Losing my personalisations is an inconvenience, but a minor one in the great scheme of things. I could just rebuild it, although I haven't started that yet in case that would mess up the restore that google might possibly be working on at this very minute. Or not. Every time I fire up my browser I wonder if it will appear. What worries me though is that I have come to rely more and more on google for less trivial things than my homepage. My mail, calendar, documents, bookmarks, rss feeds, blog and photos are hosted on google's servers. What if they were to 'dissapear' one morning? I'd be very seriously inconvenienced indeed. Because of the nature of my work, a way to access my stuff from any computer has been a godsend. What really really worries me though is if those other services were to disappear what would I have to do to get them restored? Would there be an official word from google? Would my request to have my mail restored have to be made though a posting on a newsgroup that was never replied to? Would the brains at google be too busy putting an 'i' in front of everything to be able to do the restores? Dunno.

I like the bit about not changing the theme - the system will not allow me to change the theme, it just reloads the same page. In addition, I cannot add any gadgets to my pages - they just do not appear. I echo the concern about all the stuff I have on Google services; I have most of it somewhere else too, but to lose things on even a few of the services would be a big blow. Of course there were doom-sayers from the start who warned that this would likely happen sometime. Joy

I know there are a few of you whose pages haven't yet been restored, and we're still working to get you back up and running. Could you please let me know once more if your iGoogle page is *still* not back?

Not sure whether I really need to say this considering my previous post (http://groups.google.com/group/Google_Web_Search_Help- Personalizing/msg/ea4021916a09b397) But I'll do as I'm told if it'll help: My 'i'Google page is *still* not back.
It's fun isn't it. I wonder if we'll get to 1000 posts.
