Subject: Google Address Book
Something google is still failing in getting done in the "organize the
world's information and make it universally accessible and useful" is
in the contact information management.

How could someone use gmail´s "contacts" feature to keep track of
their contact´s data. That looks more like scrap of information and it
´s hard to update or import from outlook.

I´m one those that are trying to dump the microsoft office package,
not because I hate microsoft (I don´t), but I´m switching to the
"online desktop" because its faster and it´s accessible. I can suck up
the emails from my office´s server to my gmail account now, and I´m
syncing my blackjack´s calendar to google calendar using goosync. I´m
getting all my info on google and having access to them on my
cellphone. But my contacts on my phone are still hanging there without
a syncing buddy.

I tried to import my contacts from outlook into gmail and they got
dupped in the process, which disappointed me very much.

It seems like it´s time to get a "Google Contacts" up and running with
some usefull plaxo features, make the online user a true internet
user.

Facebook´s new API enabled a regular guy with his friends and family
to be seen online only by those he wants. People can see what he dugg
on digg.com, what he bookmarked on del.icio.us and what musics he
likes. It´s like facebook really connected the dots! That seemed
amazing to me, but facebook isn´t about keeping track of people´s
phone numbers and addresses.

Well, my point is google has the power to link all that information
and come up with a good contact list manager.

I will continue using this monologue thread as my blog.

Google acquired Grand Central, which carries an address book that
doesn't hurt your eyes. If they merge that with gmail's addressbook
comcast's plaxo might have an easier path combining that with their
shiny "address book for life".
