Welcome to the Google For Educators group! With the new school year
fast approaching, we thought it would be a good idea to have a place
for teachers to get together and share ideas for using Docs in the
classroom, ask each other questions about lesson plans, or help each
other get started using Google Docs. We know there are some experts
among us in this group that have been using Google Docs in the
classroom for a long time. We'd love to hear from you from you as well
as those of you new to Docs. Marie and I will also be posting from
time to time to announce any new Docs features, provide you with
resources, or help with any issues you run into. We'll also be here to
listen to your ideas so that we can improve Google Docs for teachers.
I'm looking forward to reading all the ideas that come from this
group.
This may put me in the tinfoil hat territory, but does the Google TOS
apply to the students who use your services in the classroom?
While I know Google is a big, fun-loving company do good for the
common man, the TOS gives Google a lot of leeway with regards to use
of content. While I doubt many of my students would worry about this,
I do not want to be in a position where I in any way compromise their
privacy.

I represent the Missouri Autism Coalition and SSD (Special School
District) for St Louis and am very interested in your Google Apps
Education Edition.
We are currently developing a interactive website/resource for
parents, educators and service providers for the state of Mo, and I am
very interested in incorporating some of the applications provided in
the Education Edition - especially since they allow users to easily
collaborate no matter what type of software/system you are currently
using.
However, the modification is beyond the scope of your approved
partners. Is there someone in your organization with whom I could
speak with to discuss this project? (You would probably consider this
a new product suggestion/offering in the Google Apps Education
Edition.)
