Google X was pulled (as far as I know) because the dock, and the
zoom-in-as-you-scroll-over thingy was copywrited by Mac, and Mac is a
bit obsessive about its copywrites. That's what I heard (although I
would have thought Google would be a bit moreforthcoming about the
matter).

I thought Google X was really awesome and was dissapointed when Google
removed it from the Internet unexpectedly with no comment. I am trying
to get the word out to them to bring it back online if possible. If I
start a petition to Google to restore Google X I encourage as many
people who liked it to sign it.
