We just launched the first release candidate for GWT 1.4. You can read the complete announcement on the Google Web Toolkit blog:

http://googlewebtoolkit.blogspot.com/2007/05/google-web-toolkit-14-release-candidate.html

Download the release from the GWT web site:

A very special thanks to all the contributors who have worked so hard to help make GWT 1.4 a reality.

Please go give it a try and let us know what you think.

Thanks,

We will be trying to recompile QueWeb on 1.4 ASAP and will report back the results to everybody (we are over 5000 download in just few weeks!). Looks like 1.4 release is promising to be exactly what we wanted on the performance side of things. Since we are pretty big on the javascript download size - can't wait to see if we can load as fast as the mail demo :)

It reduced the size of our application by 26%, which is pretty good.

Easily the best release of GWT yet. I've been using the SuggestBox,
ImageBundle and RichTextEditor and they all work well. I've also been
monitoring the GWT Contributors forum, and I must say, you guys have
been doing an awesome job.

Thanks again to the GWT team ;)
