According to the above (and some other threads) the issue can result
in incorrect serialization of java.util.Date objects.
I researched a bit but cannot find any related bug report in issue-
tracker.
Does anyone know whether this issue is fixed or not?

Searching on this forum also didn't return anything about the status
of this issue.
Looking at the source of Date.java in JRE emul it is apparent that it
is using long internally (I have 1.4.60).
