Hi,
We are going to be feeding information up to the GSA as content types
(mostly products), such as

Content Type:
Book
Journal Article
Manual
Standard

One of the requirements from business units is to have "regular" web
pages (or non-product pages) be added as a filter. So ...
Book
Journal Article
Manual
Standard
Web Pages

However, they are not part of the content_type meta tag.

I guess my question is - would we need to have a meta tag embedded in
each content page like:
<meta name="content_type" content="Web page" />

or would there be some other way to add it to the dynamic navigation?

If you're using the dynamic navigation XSLT on the appliance, you'd
definitely need the metadata associated with each page. If you
customize the display, you could potentially inject a value for
display purposes in that custom UI, but just having the metadata is
probably the easier approach.
