Latest Mini - searching Google Sites (Google Apps)

This seems crazy but after quite a bit of googling/reading, I believe
that the Mini (even the latest) cannot search Google Sites (used as a
password protected corporate intranet site).

Software v5.2 on the non-mini appliance (the yellow box) seems to be
able to search Sites (and Docs I believe) but the latest mini is (from
what I'm reading) stuck with v4.x. I keep thinking I'm missing some
obvious FAQ that explains it all...

I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around this concept (google
products being completely incompatible) so if someone has a
significantly different understanding of this situation (or some kind
of explanation about why Google would do this) (or some info about
Google's future plans to support the mini), please post/reply.

A less wordy version: Am I correct that the mini will never search
Google Sites?

A Google GSA rep answered my question:

"You are correct. Apps integration was available on 5.2 and now on
6.0, but not 5.0 (which is the latest version that the Mini
supports)."
