Hello,

We are on Google Mini 5.0x. We are getting "Error: Other 4xx HTTP
response code" when trying to perform a crawl for the first time.
Because of the vagueness of the error, we are not sure where to start
in the troubleshooting process. Any assistance you can provide is
appreciated. Thanks.

Best regards,

Chung Lee

Can you look at your server's log files or monitor network traffic?

Hello Dave,

Thank you for replying. Are you referring to the log files (event
logs) from the Mini or the log files from the web server which I would
like crawled?

The web server's log files.

Yes, I have access to them.

Not meaning to get too far ahead. When I examine the log files, the
entries left by the 'gsa-crawler' indicate a 403 error. This is what
showing on the logs as a 'sc-status' and 'sc-substatus': 403 16

Then that narrows things down a bit.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_403

Does your site require client certificates?

The site does require client certificates. Looks like the Mini might
need to obtain one. I guess there's no way to get around this?

Can you conditionally disable client certificates? (My guess is,
probably not). If not, there's no way to get around it.

We're not allowed to disable certificates. We'll have to get one for
the Mini.

Thank you so much, Dave. :)
