So we just realised that the software on our Google Mini is out of
date. I'm currently waiting for login details to the google support
site from our reseller, but i just wanted to know what the new
features/benefits are in upgrading to 5.whatever_is_latest ?
Should we be 'fixing it when it ain't broke'? We are all for new
features, but i can't find release notes **anywhere**.
Well, if you are not having issues at all, then you do not have to
update but if you do run into any issues and need support, the support
team will likely make you update. So it is really you're call on that
one. :-)
In terms of the release notes, they are also on the support site so
once you get your login, have a gander here:

Oh and btw, if you do decide to update, please update to 5.0.4.G.22
plus the VM Patch#1 (two separate updates) to get the latest. These
updates are here:

If the update is to fail for some reason and the device becomes
uncontactable ect, are we able to perform a manual install a previous
version of the software (I.e. 4.6.4.G22) on it?
The only software available seems to be 'update' software instead of
'full installation' software. Or are they the same thing?
Can you install the software manually through physical access to the
box?
Cheers,
Rhys

When you update, you have a choice to accept or revert the software
update depending on the results of your testing. However, once you
have accepted the update then you will not be able to revert it. If
you do run into issues, assuming that you are still under support
though, you should be able to get support to look at it.
