How does the GSA get the total search results being rendered

Hi,
Can anyone tell me how the GSA get the total search results? Everytime
I click on the next result records, the total number is changing. Is
this normal??

It is possible that you have a filter set? Please try creating a new
frontend and test against that. If you don't see the problem there,
then you may have a filter set up in the other front end or something
in Remove URLs. Since the filtering is done per request, the numbers
can get skewed for each page.
