I am using an att tilt with mobile 6 professional. I have wi-fi
connectivity, but no data plan. It seems like if I start connected to
wi-fi, I can get my maps and use whatever maps are on the phone. Is
there a way to load the maps that I need onto my phone and save them,
or will I have to have a connection?

That type of functionality (the ability to pre-cache/download map
tiles for later use) isn't available for Google Maps for mobile at
this time. There have been a number of posts in this group
specifically requesting this functionality, and we're working to meet
your needs - but for now, Google Maps for mobile requires a data
connection for use.
Best,
Tom
