Subject: Download of Maps JAR-file
How do I download the Google Maps Mobile JAR-file to my PC?

I want to do that  and afterwards copy the file to my phone.

When I visit the www.google.com/gmm-page on the pc, I just see the
ordinary index-page.

/Kasper

Subject: Re: Download of Maps JAR-file
It took some search and hacking, but I finally got it downloaded to my
phone and got it working on a Motorola L6.  But it should work on any
phone with Java J2ME support.
You'll need to download both the jar and the jad file.  You can find
them here:
http://www.google.com/gmm/apps/v1.4.5/L1/gmaps-145-m2_L1.jar
http://www.google.com/gmm/apps/v1.4.5/L1/gmaps-Generic-Advanced_MIDP2...

Before you install gmaps using the .jad file.  You need to edit it
using the notepad application.
Edit this line:
MIDlet-Jar-URL: http://www.google.com/gmm/apps/v1.4.5/L1/gmaps-145-m2_L1.jar
and remove the http address so that it becomes
MIDlet-Jar-URL: gmaps-145-m2_L1.jar

Install the .jad file using what ever is appropriate for your phone.
For me, I used motomidman
to install it into my L6 using USB cable.

Good luck.

Hmm - when I open the JAD-file it begins with an error, probably
bacause I tried to download on the pc:

ERROR: Google Maps doesn't support your phone.

I suppose I'll just remove the line...

Thanks - I'll try and see if it works.
