I just traded in my Blackberry 8820 for the new Curve 8310 (30 day returns kick butt). But found out after purchasing it that the internal GPS is not supported by Google maps. Since the software and hardware are essentially the same, can anyone tell me what is the reasoning behind only supporting certain phones?
Also, does anyone know when the 8310 will be supported? Is there a work around?
I have a Curve 8310 (AT&T) and goofle maps works just fine on mine. Suggest you check the permissions carefully, and make sure the google modules have access to the GPs and internet.

This issue is not that google maps does not work, the issue is it does
not utilize my internal GPS. On my old BB 8820, I could hit the 0
(zero) button and it would automatically go to my location and would
follow me with a little blue dot. The maps portion works on the 8310
as it works on my computer - just a maps and direction application.
I have read that the curve is not supported. What is the reason for
this, and more importantly, when will it be supported.

I followed your instructions, but it doesn't live update while I'm
moving. I have to go back and "Refresh GPS" each time I want to know
where I am. Does this happen for you?
