I just looked up an address on W Street NW in Washington, DC, but Google Maps must have thought the W was an abbreviation for "west". It ended up giving me an address nowhere near the actual location!
I put in "1200 w street nw, washington, dc" and got back "DC Village Ln SW, Washington, DC 20032"
I tried this for the other "direction" streets -- N, E, and S -- and the same thing happened. (I made sure to put in valid addresses too, e.g. 1300 S Street NW, etc.)
I'm not really going to be checking back here -- I just wanted to put in this bug report for the powers that be.

and haven't heard one lick of reply; I've also submitted feedback via their feedback form, and IMed a Google employee to pass the info onto the Maps team, but again, haven't heard that they're aware of the problem. As it stands, though, GM is totally useless in Washington DC... frustrating.
