Have you always wanted to edit the map to make it more accurate, but
weren't sure how to proceed? Now you can see all of the recent marker
edits made by other Google Maps users. Just head over to
http://maps.google.com/recentedits
We'll show you all the recent changes happening. Once you've gotten
the hang of it, go ahead and enter any location to edit in the top
box. Click "Search maps" and it will take you to a marker to edit.
your announcement sounds like a very good message.
But to use it according the hints from the included youtube-video
there seems to be a new problem:
Surprisedly neither at maps.google.com nor at maps.google.de (and
indepently of searching an adress of the States or from Germany)
I get the "hybrid"-button to use it for editing anymore.
Even searching on the map at your link produced the same effect.
The "hybrid"-button seems to be "gone" or replaced by the "terrain"-
buttun.
But behind the "terrain"-buttun and the other both (map and
satellite) I could not get your new "edit"-feature of the serching-
marker.
A Hint: on API-maps the "hybrid" still exist!!! But is doesn't help
for your new feature because there is normally no searching-feature on
API tu use.
Please advice what to do or perhaps what I did wrongly.
Many thanks in advance

For the US I probably had made an erroer myself if typing a location whithout a "correct" adress whithin the street I had trieed to edit. Now I'm able to edit for the US too (so far I can see).
But for Europe (p.e. UK or Germany) it doesn't seem to work up to now: please type one or all of the following locations to check it:
10 Downing St, Westminster, London, UK -or- 10 Bury St, Westminster, London, UK -or- Alexanderplatz 1, Berlin, Germany
May be the new feature isn't enabled outside of US??

It appears that the editing feature does not apply to those locations at this time. None of the instructions say that the editing feature is limited to the United States. Is this an oversite or a bug? I do not know.

Very fine, NWT
I see, You checked the above named locations and got the same effect
as me.
Obviously it seems happen for all adresses at last in UK, France and
Germany (I tried several all over there) and
I guess it happens for the other googlemaps-supported european
countries too.
Knowing this is a help-group for users to exchange questions,
experiences and replies
-and-
knowing that the Maps Guides "very rarly" reply to post here
-and-
not knowing any "official" GoogleMaps bug-reporting-site
I kindly ask you:
What do you recommend to report definitly this bug (or perhaps
"oversite") to GoogleMaps.
So they can either fixe the bug or amend the annoucement if it is an
oversite-problem
to avoid flooding this goup by plenty of people with the same
detection next time?
