Subject: Marker Manager and Geocode Search on the same page
Hi All,

I have used Michael Williams' Marker Manager example (http://
econym.googlepages.com/markermanager.htm) to display markers from my
database at specified zoom levels and it all works perfectly.

I would now like to add the ability to search for an address into this
same page and display markers relevant to the resulting search area
and zoom level as well as a marker on the address I am searching
(preferably a different marker, but not the end of the world).

I can get the search working without a problem on it's own but the
result does not incorporate the markers from my database which are set
up by the Marker Manager.

Any suggestions? I would greatly appreciate any help, I have searched
high and low and done some extensive testing and cannot find the
answer anywhere.

you can store your markers on a mysql database and set it to get the
markers visible in the viewpoint every time that viewpoint changes.
that's what i use.
you can achieve the markermanager effect (choosing what markers show
up or not) using php comands on the page that retrieves the markers
from your database. it's easy, if you are interested in this method,
reply me.

how did you set up your search? is it ajax? i'm having trouble setting
up mine. ( http://groups.google.com/group/Google-Maps-API/browse_thread/thread/6...

Hi benex,

I would be very interested in how you did this. Please advise?

Whe you say, you are having trouble setting up your search do you mean
you are having trouble searching on a page that will geocode the
result or searching your database for an address? I have it working
using either javascript or php, so let me know which one you like and
I will send you the details (or I can explain both).

Regards
Patrick
