Many of you saw Mike's post about Street View functionality in the API
and used the hack to get it working on your site. Well, thanks for
being so excited. :)
As of a few minutes ago, we've *officially* released Street View in
the Maps API.
Please post any cool demos you've made here - we think this is a
pretty flexible API and we're curious to see what you all come up
with. (Plus, I'll send free Google stuff to the authors of the best
demos :).

Perhaps not *exactly* what you meant but I'm am experimenting with
using Street View in 3D using a library I've been working on for a
while here: http://ubrowser.com
I've got all sorts of nifty ideas but I do need to improve the Flash
support - something odd is happening as you can see from the jaggies
in the images.
In addition, Firefox 3 should have support for accelerated 3D canvases
so we might even be able to do this sort of thing directly in the
browser.

Hi. We've integrated google street view into our site, povo.com.
First, what's povo?
Povo is a local wiki. We take every block, park, and street in the
city and make a wiki page for it. Each page knows where it is in
relation to all the others. On those pages we initially seed them
with businesses, parks, city service information, and any other public
sources we can find. Each listing is tagged and also use "templates"
such as the "parking garage" template or the "park" template. You can
search all this by location, tags, and also advanced user-created
search engines (e.g. "Where can I park for 2 hours for $10 within one
mile of X?").
We've given each listing a "see street view" link that pops up street
view for that place. The cool bit, I think, is that since geocoding
+street view isn't always perfect, you can then move the viewer and
then click a button to save that updated location to the wiki for all
others to benefit from.
Heat Maps are good
blogged it this morning
(yours was the good example)
For StreetView to gain popularity it needs to gain coverage globally
(USA is well covered now).
Though privacy/people in the capture images needs to be worked on.
Notes from this group are - some don't like flash (full stop) and
never will so they dislike it.

Using the call function to add information about a location - you can
therefore provide a virtual tour of an area, e.g. this walk around San
Francisco -

I just wanted to mention I just completed a website www.lotview.net which uses maps and street views. The site is geared toward viewing
real estate and can be useful for viewing major metropolian areas.
In making the site I used the Street View Google samples. Thank you
Google for great examples.
If you find the site useful please feel free to use the code and
consider linking back to www.lotview.net .
Please check it out and let me know what you think.

Hi,
I thought I'd post my example, which can be found at
FindHomeBuys.com. I created the site over the past couple of days to
display foreclosed homes across the country. The number of listings
will rapidly expand and a few new and improved features are on their
way, but the site is already quite helpful to anyone that might be
interested in buying bank repossessed property.
